10hr Drawing Practice

Joining forces with Meanwhile Space, Whitechapel I was able to have a stand where I could sit and draw the space and the people who entered for the fair from the hours of 10am- 8pm. Working in this way enabled me to intermingle with the other stall owners and public and recieve their feedback on my drawings whilst providing me with things and atmosphere to draw from. Displaying myself practicing drawing at my stand was also a way of me having to face up to any feelings of embarassment and shame about my drawing and hopefully encourage others to do the same, as I feel that it's the act of drawing and practice that has so much to offer and not just the resulting drawing.

Some current work

Here are some examples of my more recent work. The one with boobs and crab is a peek at an unfinished piece. It's quite flower focused at the moment! I like to make things quite static on the page through colour and busy detail. I'm starting to experiment more with paper and projection and really want to start making things literally move, such as kinetic installations and animations!!
